Musicbits

These are short, yet pointless, bits of musical non-sequitur.  I have hundreds of such bits, but these are a few that I like best.  And I should give The Residents credit, as this type of short composition was inspired by their seminal 'Commercial Album'.

A Glass Of God

A Glass Of God

The title comes from a motivational speaker's phrase "If God is the ocean, then we are all glass of God."

Blew By You

Blew By You

This bit was inspired by Bill Bruford's band Earthworks, hence the pun title.

Broken Glass

Broken Glass

A quick musical riff on Philip Glass

Cape St. Francis

Cape St. Francis

A short ambient bit named for a costal area in South Africa.

Cardboard Cut-Out

Cardboard Cut-Out

A bit of odd-time signature over a doodling piano.

Cheerless Prairie

Cheerless Prairie

A medley of bass-lines written at spare moments with suitably cheesy percussion backing.

A Druid Crossing 110th Street

A Druid Crossing 110th Street

Swirly ambient doodle with a mental picture of a mediaeval druid walking thru Harlem.

Figure Ate

Figure Ate

New Order pastiche/homage

Going Melvin

Going Melvin

Why "Melvin"?  Don't ask me?

Jumping Man

Jumping Man

Pastiche/homage of the group Man Jumping, hence the title

The Venom Fridge

The Venom Fridge

More Bill Bruford-esque noise.  The title is based on a character in Douglas Adams' book "Last Chance To See", who kept snake venom in a refrigerator, along side a store of cupcakes

Quicklime

Quicklime

Sonic drama which ends before it gets too pretentious.
